Foundation of Aiken Studio – Early Ukrainian Web Development
In December 1999, Aiken Studio was established as one of the first “factories” of Ukrainian websites. It provided services for brands such as Toyota, Kia Motors, Yandex, and KP Media, and developed information portals like Fakty i Komentari, Telekrytyka, Glavred, as well as the online publication of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Imenem Zakonu, among others.
The studio’s first project is considered one of the oldest Ukrainian-language initiatives, Bahato Referativ, created in 1999.
The name “Aiken” was invented by its founder in 1999 and comes from a play on words with “I can.” At different stages of its development, the company was known as Web Studio Aiken and Aiken Design Studio. In 2008, with the registration of the limited liability company (LLC Aiken Studio) and the trademark (Aiken®), the official name became Aiken Studio.
In 2012, the company was renamed Aiken Interactive.
