Kyivstar Partners with SpaceX for Starlink Direct-to-Cell Service

In 2025, Ukrainian telecom operator Kyivstar partnered with SpaceX to launch Starlink direct-to-cell messaging services, making Ukraine the first European country with this capability. The system allows users to send messages via platforms like WhatsApp and Signal directly through Starlink satellites. This ensures reliable connectivity even during network disruptions caused by infrastructure damage or cyberattacks.
