Full-scale 3G Internet Deployment
Full-scale 3G implementation in Ukraine began only in 2015, much later than in Europe. Before this, 3G was mostly available through CDMA networks like PEOPLEnet.
After the launch of 3G by Kyivstar, Vodafone (formerly UMC), and lifecell, mobile Internet became fast, stable, and convenient for browsing websites, social media, and streaming video. In the early years after deployment, 3G coverage expanded rapidly, especially in large cities, regional centers, and along major highways.
This standard enabled Ukrainians to fully use smartphones — streaming video, listening to music online, and downloading files without relying on Wi-Fi.
