Founding of the Internet Association of Ukraine (IAU)
In November 2000, the Internet Association of Ukraine (IAU) was founded. Among its early achievements were organizing the conference “State and the Internet” and the nationwide conference “Internet Technologies in the State Information Space.”
In its first year, the association also signed the agreement to establish the Ukrainian Internet Exchange (UA-IX), a key step in improving national Internet infrastructure. This initiative spurred the unification of the largest companies working in the Internet sector.
Today, the Internet Association of Ukraine is the largest organization in the field of electronic communications, bringing together more than 220 members from across the country. Its members include telecommunications operators, Internet service and equipment providers, television and media content distributors, representatives of the Internet advertising industry, media outlets, and universities.
