Bibliomist: Expanding Internet Access Across Ukraine

Bibliomist was a major initiative, launched in 2009 with support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, aimed at bringing internet access to Ukraine's public libraries. Over 1,800 libraries nationwide were equipped with computers, Wi-Fi, and educational resources. The program not only provided connectivity but also trained librarians and citizens in digital literacy skills, enabling communities to engage with the internet effectively.

Bibliomist played a key role in bridging Ukraine’s digital divide, fostering online learning, access to information, and participation in the digital world, laying the groundwork for broader internet adoption across the country.
